  • Her voice is not her own, repeating the words she has learned all her life. Rather than gaze up at her god, her eyes are downcast to follow the example of the men who demand her obedience. She is distorted, shaped in their vision.

    In this, i am thinking about a woman being told to smile. i am thinking about avoiding eye contact in order to pass unnoticed. I am thinking about doing what you must to survive.

    The hollow neck is based on a local church in Norman, OK.
